Each bloom was studied in depth to mix the perfect palette to capture the essence of each flower. Thin layers of paint were applied to the canvas to create the background. Each delicate layer lets part of the previous color show through, adding to and removing paint from the layers as I go. Each background consists of numerous layers to create this soft, ethereal feel.

Over top loose geometric marks were applied in color and patterns to represent each distinct flower. Each piece has slight variations to the pattern and texture that embody elements found in each unique bloom. The placement and composition of these marks were determined following a series of sketches + studies to reflect the shape of the flower.
