18" x 18" x 1.5" | Acrylic on Canvas
This piece exudes a raw and industrial feel, almost as if it's a close-up of a weathered urban wall. The predominantly monochromatic color scheme creates a deep contrast between black and shades of gray, with a highly varied and tactile texture that adds movement and depth to the canvas. The minimal but striking copper lines intersect to form a loose grid pattern, adding a modern and dynamic aesthetic to the piece. This abstract artwork is a powerful testament to resilience and strength, inspired by the artist's personal experiences with adversity. It serves as a reminder that even in the darkest of moments, there is always hope and a way forward. The unique process of creating "Grit" involved multiple layers of thick acrylic paint applied with palette knives, resulting in intricate textures and a visually compelling piece.
